The One Step Closer Foundation

(1SCF) is a non-profit, charitable organization whose main goal is to improve the lives of those who suffer from cerebral palsy along with various disabilities.

The 1SCF, through multiple fundraising efforts, supports existing groups, individuals, and research for those already coping with cerebral palsy (CP) and other disabilities. The 1SCF strives to promote awareness and understanding of the disease through educational programs, support groups and access to previously unknown research. The 1SCF will also direct funds to researchers seeking for medical advancements in treating and diagnosing CP.

Our Partners

California Toy Giveaway

The California Toy Giveaway, a collaboration between the LAPD, Disney, and One Step Closer Foundation, is a heartwarming initiative that brought joy and excitement to over 1000 children across the state, with a special focus on those facing challenging circumstances. This collaborative effort focused on identifying and providing for children in need of extra cheer.

What We Do

If you would like to learn more about what we do please email us at: info@1scf.org

HOSPITAL INITIATIVE

This initiative focuses on making patients’ hospital stays more manageable & pleasant. We have partnered with world-renowned hospitals such as Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, MD Anderson, Memorial Hermann…

SPORTS NIGHT OUT

This program involves taking people (adults and children), with various disabilities from various hospitals & rehabilitation centers all over the nation out to a multitude of sporting events around the US.

RESEARCH & WELLNESS INITIATIVE

This program supports research to find ways to alleviate the effects and burdens brought on by CP and various disabilities, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure for the disease…

MOVEMENT INITIATIVE

We believe that everyone is entitled to an extraordinary life, and movement is key to that. We partnered up with an innovative company called Freedom Concepts. They custom build bicycles based on an individual’s specific disability.

ONE-ON-ONE INITIATIVE

This one-on-one is designed to provide assistance on an individual level to people primarily with cerebral palsy, but other disabilities as well. Disabilities impact each person differently and there is no one answer to everyone’s problems.

ONE STEP CLOSER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

We provide scholarships opportunities for aspiring students with disabilities who have a thirst for knowledge & desire to succeed without having to worry about medical/health costs getting in the way.

Music Night Out

This initiative focuses on escorting individuals (both adults and children) with diverse disabilities from numerous hospitals and rehabilitation centers across the country to a variety of music concerts throughout the US.

ONE STEP WISHES

This program involves granting wishes for critically ill people with disabilities. We want to make every minute the recipient has as special as can be. In order to screen these requests we work directly with our partnered hospitals.
